BMI Calculator

Calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI) from height and weight to assess your body type

Height
Weight
Reference Standards (Chinese Adults)
  • · < 18.5 — Underweight
  • · 18.5 – 23.9 — Normal
  • · 24.0 – 27.9 — Overweight
  • · ≥ 28.0 — Obese

BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)². BMI only reflects the ratio of weight to height and cannot distinguish muscle from fat; results may be misleading for athletes, pregnant women, older adults, and other groups. For a health assessment, please consult a qualified doctor.

How to use

The BMI calculator quickly assesses whether your weight falls within a healthy range: enter your height (cm) and weight (kg) to instantly see your BMI value and body type (Underweight / Normal / Overweight / Obese), judged against Chinese adult reference standards (<18.5 underweight, 18.5–23.9 normal, 24–27.9 overweight, ≥28 obese). Keep in mind that BMI cannot distinguish muscle from fat: a high BMI in muscular, fit people does not mean obesity, and children, pregnant women, and older adults should use dedicated standards.
